Lovibond Dipslides - Total Viable Count (TVC)

Item # 56B010110

With nutrient agar on both sides of the paddle, the TTC/TTC dipslide is ideal for general hygiene and microbial control trend analysis of a liquid sample or solid surface. When aerobic bacteria is present, colonies appear as red spots, which makes them easy to see and count.

Useful for a wide variety of applications and industrial uses, this dipslide is well suited to Legionella risk assessment and biocide efficacy in industrial waters and cooling waters. By monitoring microbial activity within a system, users can judge if disinfection protocols are effective.

Routine monitoring enables early detection of bacteria and other microorganisms proliferating to avoid major issues within the facility or system. These do-it-yourself tests can be used in the field and deliver semi-quantitative results quickly – with no special training or need to send samples to a laboratory.

Dipslides are supplied in boxes of 10 and come with instructions to determine the activity of aerobic & anaerobic bacteria.

Detecting: Total Viable Count (TVC) or Total aerobic bacteria
Agar Side 1: Nutrient Agar with TTC dye
Agar side 1 - Color: Straw / Light yellow
Agar side 1 - Growth: Red spots (Triphenyl tetrazolium chloride dye)
Agar Side 2: Nutrient Agar with TTC dye
Agar Side 2 - Color: Straw / Light yellow
Agar side 2 - Growth: Red spots (Triphenyl tetrazolium chloride dye)
Testing Medium: Fluids, Surfaces
Testing Range: 100 - 1,000,000 CFUs (102 -106 CFUs) Results are semi quantitative
Incubation Temperature: 30-35˚C OR temperature representative of sampling conditions
Incubation Period: 24-48 hours
Storage Temperature: 8-25˚C
Primary Applications: Industrial Water, Cooling Water, General Purpose
Disposal: Used tests should be incinerated or autoclaved. Alternatively, immerse in a 5-10% bleach solution for 12-24 hours. Ensure compliance to local guidelines.
Other Information: If testing surfaces: Bacterial recovery rate is about 50%. Sweeping an area approximately twice that of the paddle will give a more accurate result.

Additional Information
