Dipslides, Lovibond, Total Bacteria / Fungi, 10/bx

Code: 56B010210

Product Type: Single Parameter

Test Method: Dipslides

Analyte/Chemical: Bacteria

Volume: 500 mL

Brand: Lovibond

The TTC/MALT dipslide is for the detection of aerobic bacteria as well as yeast, molds, and fungi, with nutrient agar on one side and malt extract agar on the other side of the paddle. Ideal for industrial waters, food production and other systems with complex water matrices for general hygiene and microbial control trend analysis.

On the TTC side of the paddle, colonies appear as red spots when aerobic bacteria are present, which makes them easy to identify. On the Malt extract agar of the paddle, yeasts molds and fungi will appear as white, black, green, or beige spots.

This dipslide is well suited to environments with high probabilities of airborne yeast or mold spores that may contaminate finished products or compromise the integrity of the system.

Routine monitoring enables early detection of bacteria and other microorganisms proliferating to avoid major issues within the facility or system. These do-it-yourself tests can be used in the field and deliver semi-quantitative results quickly with no special training or need to send samples to a laboratory.

Dual-sided dipslide with agars for measuring different species

  • Paddle design facilitates air sampling & surface testing

  • Effective contact area of 10 cm≤ for easy calculation of results

  • Do-It-Yourself microbiological field test no special training required

Dipslides are supplied in boxes of 10 and come with instructions to determine the activity of aerobic & anaerobic bacteria.

Features:

  • Testing Medium: Fluids, Surfaces, Air

  • Testing Range: TTC: 100 - 1,000,000 CFUs (102 -106 CFUs); MALT: Light / Medium / Heavy; Results are semi quantitative

  • Incubation Temperature: 30-35 °C (Note: incubation temperature selected should be representative of the sample conditions.)

  • Incubation Period: TTC: 24-48 hours; MALT: up to 5 days

  • Primary Applications: Industrial Water, Cooling Water, Industrial Fluids, Paper Mills, Food, Brewing, General Purpose

  • Storage Temperature: 8-25 °C

  • Disposal: Used tests should be incinerated or autoclaved. Alternatively, immerse in a 5-10% bleach solution for 12-24 hours. Ensure compliance to local guidelines

  • Other Information: If testing surfaces: Bacterial recovery rate is about 50%. Sweeping an area approximately twice that of the paddle will give a more accurate result.

  • Detecting: Total Viable Count (TVC) or Total aerobic bacteria + fungi, molds and yeasts

  • Agar Side 1 - Nutrient Agar with TTC dye

  • Agar side 1 - Color: Straw / Light yellow

  • Agar side 1 - Growth: Red spots (Triphenyl tetrazolium chloride dye)

  • Agar Side 2 - Malt Extract Agar

  • Agar Side 2 - Color: Brown

  • Agar side 2 - Growth: White, Black, Green & Beige spots
