How FoalWatch Helps

As a mare approaches foaling, her milk calcium levels rise sharply. FoalWatch tracks these changes with clear, easy‑to‑read results:

• Begin daily testing until calcium exceeds 100 ppm
• Test twice daily once levels reach 125 ppm
• At 200 ppm, about half of mares foal within 24 hours
• Levels between 300–500 ppm strongly indicate birth is imminent

Simple 4‑Step Test Procedure

1. Mix 1.5 mL of mare’s milk with distilled water and the indicator solution.
2. Snap the Titret ampoule tip and immerse it in the sample.
3. Draw and mix until the color shifts from orange to blue.
4. Invert the ampoule and read the calcium level directly from the scale.
